Welcome to the 16th anual conference of diplomacy
Welcome to the 2025 edition of Saint Paul's Model United Nations Conference, where the most brilliant young minds gather to tackle today’s most pressing issues. This year's conference promises to be an exciting and transformative experience, as students step into the roles of international diplomats, engage in spirited debates, and collaborate on innovative solutions to global challenges. With a renewed focus on inclusivity, sustainability, and diplomacy, we are eager to witness the creativity and leadership of tomorrow’s change-makers.
Our
Secretariat
Magie Srur
Secretary General
I’m Magie Srur, the Secretary General for this year’s SPMUN. My passion for diplomacy began in eighth grade and has led me from delegate to chair to the General Secretariat, even taking me to the UN Headquarters in 2024. My goal is to empower minorities, raise awareness of global issues, and help students grow into confident, empathetic leaders. MUN, to me, is more than a simulation—it’s a place to build skills, friendships, and confidence. Alongside the Secretariat, faculty, and chairs, I’ve worked hard to make this conference meaningful, and I hope it inspires you to think critically, speak passionately, and use your voice to make a difference.
Santiago Alvarado
Secretary General
My name is Santiago Alvarado, and I’m honored to serve as this year’s Co-Secretary-General of SPMUN alongside Magie and Florencia. SPMUN has shaped me since seventh grade. Discovering in high school a community as organized and ambitious as SPMUN, I aimed not only to participate but to help improve it. I’ve attended every conference, from representing Afghanistan on child labour to debating Taiwan as North Korea. Beyond honing English and argumentation, MUN builds awareness and turns indifference into action. This year’s mission: pursue more than awards—engage with problems and propose solutions. I’m excited to raise the bar and exceed expectations.

Florencia Ulloa
Under-Secretary General
My name is Florencia, and I'm truly honored to be your Under-Secretary General this year! Ever since I've been in sixth grade, debating has always interested me, so when I joined high school and learned about SPMUN, I immediately signed up. I knew I had found something special, and my hope is that you'll find that same spark too. Since then, I've participated in every SPMUN possible, as well as a couple conferences outside of school, each one helping me gain even more experience. Together with the rest of the Secretariat, we've worked hard to create a conference in which you're able to grow, learn, and discover everything MUN has to offer. I'm very excited to see you all excel this year, and I wish you the very best!

points
motions
and
What are they?
In Model United Nations, points and motions are formal requests made by delegates to manage the flow of debate. **Points** are used to raise specific issues or ask for clarification, such as a Point of Order or Point of Information. **Motions** are proposals for procedural changes, like a Motion to Suspend the Meeting or a Motion for a Roll Call Vote, and they help guide how discussions and decision-making are conducted.
