What is this committee about

International drug approval is still a major challenge for global health care, since countries maintain independent regulatory systems that can delay access to medicines and increase costs. Although drug development has become more globalized in our times, clinical trials are still vastly made in North America and Europe, leaving the rest of the world with less representation.

Regarding this issue, it has to be taken into consideration the environmental, genetic, and cultural differences amongst the different populations and ethnicities. Because of these, questions regarding the veracity of clinical trials made in certain regions of the world have risen. During the debate, delegates will discuss the strengthening of international cooperation, ways of improving representation globally, setting international approval standards, and managing an efficient access to medicines worldwide
